Honors Graduate

Air Force Airman 1st Class Victoria Cameron has graduated, with honors, from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, Cameron studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. By completing the basic training Cameron earned credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

She is the granddaughter of George and Barb McQuiston of Newburg, Pa., and greatgranddaughter of Betty Welsh of New Wilmington.

Pennington Inducted Into Collegiate Scholars Society

Danielle PenningtonDanielle Pennington, a 2007 Wilmington Area High School Graduate, was inducted into the University of Pittsburgh chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) on Sunday, Sept. 7, in Heinz Chapel. A reception followed at William Pitt Union following the ceremony. The National Society Scholars (NSCS) is the nation’s premier organization for high achieving students.

Founded in 1994 at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., the NSCS is the only honor society to recognize outstanding academic achievement among first and second year college students. Membership is by invitation only and is offered to those freshmen and sophomore students who carry a 3.4 grade point average or higher and rank in the top 20 percent of their college class. Danielle maintains a 3.80 grade point average.
